Some of you might have seen or heard some of one of the former moderators' views on certain aspects of the politics, yes politics, that govern the chat rooms. Some may have seen a new web site that has cropped up in the past few days. That page can be found: here. This message is what I would call the rational response.

I considered not even bothering to recognize this new dissention but decided it brings up issues I've dealt with before. As such, I decided it would be good to offer a response.

The other site calls for the following:

• NO separation!
• NO ooc/ic rules!
• NO moderators!
• NO constant interference from so-called "authorities"!
• NO limitations on what we can and can't RP!
• NO MORE HYPOCRISY! NO MORE INTIMIDATION! NO MORE!

A few, a very small few, people will remember back when FIC was first sired there was no separation. There were no rules. There were no moderators. The only interference was by me and was by request. The only limitations were no lewd sex acts in the chat. There was no hypocracy because there was no way for it to be bred.

Then people started complaining. The OOC conversation was scrolling so fast that the RPs were having trouble. A very small minority thought it was ok, but the majority wanted a division. I decided that was a good idea, so I made it happen. I also made a specialized chat, which I didn't have to do, and put it up on the site.
The IC/OOC division was made by request of the chatters.

Then people started complaining that people were doing innapropriate things and the OOC was flooding off the screen when I wasn't there. So I started searching for moderators. It took a while, but I finally chose Ezy.
Mods were introduced by request of the chatters.

The interference is a common occurance as the moderators must interfere to enforce the rules that were created at request of the majority of the chatters. The limitations are simply that you can't fuck each other like horny little rabbits in the chat.
Unless you're asleep, you know the closed RP chat is optional.

Hypocracy.
I never cease to be amazed at how people manage to get so riled up about things without even bothering to contact me. You have a problem with a mod, you talk to me. No one else can do a damn thing about it.

You folks have something to learn here. You simply can not intimidate me. If I can stand up to a 400 pound bastard threatening me with a chain, stand toe-to-toe with him and not back down, then somebody with a fortunecity account can't come CLOSE.

You want something?
You ASK. And you ASK NICELY.

So. This is me, right now, telling everyone who wants to demand something of me, it's not going to happen. If you want to come to me like an adult, man or woman, and make your case rationally instead of throwing a tantrum, then we can talk.

Ezy was banned because of his refusing to stop disrupting the flow of RP in the chat. I saw screenshots of the events. He wasn't banned because of his little "fight the power" rally.
Moving on, Ezy's thoughts for improving the chat aren't all bad. However, like with most radical followings, the designers of this page which I am responding to have deviated from his thoughts. Ezy said, point blank in his message, that moderators are required.
The demands made by this fortunecity page say otherwise.
Ezy failed in his quest because he gave up on it. He failed to leave it with a strong vision for what he wanted and as such, these splinter groups who use his name fail to accomplish what he was working towards for the few short weeks he stuck with it.

This is not to say that Ezy's strategy was sound.

Anyone who believes his theories would work doesn't know me very well. Blatant disrespect and disregarding what my moderators say will simply strengthen my position behind them. If you have a problem with my moderators, you talk to me. You give me evidence of your problems in the form of un-manipulated screenshots of the post viewing frame of the chat. If you just piss and moan in the chat, the most you'll get out of it is a nice comfortable spot in the banned chatter database.

There are intelligent ways of dealing with the chats problems. The most intelligent of them all is through dialog with the chats owner. Dialog is much more powerful than simple childishness, and I view anonymity as cowardice.
